Ruedi Shores is located 15 miles east of Basalt, CO up the Frying Pan River Valley. Sitting at an elevation of over 8,000', with top-of-the-world views directly overlooking beautiful Ruedi Reservoir and the surrounding mountains, this is true Colorado. With close proximity to the White River National Forest, Ruedi Reservoir and its docks, and the gold-medal fishing waters of the Frying Pan River, endless recreational opportunities exist. World-class skiing is only 35 miles away at Aspen, Snowmass, Buttermilk, and Aspen Highlands Ski Areas. Minutes away is the quaint town of Basalt, with its fine shops, galleries, and restaurants - all located in the heart of the Roaring Fork Valley, halfway between the resort towns of Aspen and Glenwood Springs.
This website is intended to be a resource to both current and prospective homeowners of Ruedi Shores. It provides updates on Board activities, community events, and issues that may be of interest to all Ruedi Shores home and property Owners.
In accordance with Section 32-104.5(3)(X), C.R.S., the following general explanation in plain, nontechnical language, is provided. This information is intended to be read in conjunction with all applicable legal requirements, governing documents, agreements, resolutions, and determinations of the Board of Directors of the District.
1. A metropolitan district is a special district that provides any two or more of the following services:
(a) Fire protection;
(b) Mosquito control;
(c) Parks and recreation;
(d) Safety protection;
(e) Sanitation;
(f) Solid waste disposal facilities or collection and transportation of solid waste;
(g) Street improvement;
(h) Television relay and translation;
(i) Transportation; and
(j) Water.
2. In accordance with the District’s Service Plan, the District may provide the following public improvements and services:
(a) Street Improvements;
(b) Water Improvements;
(c) Sanitation Improvements;
(d) Safety Protection Improvements;
(e) Park and Recreation Improvements;
(f) Transportation Improvements;
(g) Mosquito Control;
(h) Fire Protection (Fire protection and emergency response services are provided by the City)
(i) Television Relay and Translation Improvements;
(j) Security Services; and
(k) Covenant Enforcement.
The District has undertaken or anticipates undertaking construction of the public improvements listed above.
The primary purpose of the District is to plan for, design, acquire, construct, install, relocate, redevelop, finance, own, operate, and maintain Public Improvements for water services. A secondary purpose is to provide street improvements, sanitation (storm drainage), solid waste disposal facilities or collection and transportation of solid waste (to the exten permitted by law), and covenant enforcement and design review services at such times as the Homeowners’ Association is ready to transfer such functions to the District and the District is able to assume them.
3. In accordance with the District’s Service Plan, the total amount of debt the District can incur to provide and pay for public infrastructure is: $3,300,000.
4. In accordance with the District’s Service Plan, the following revenue may be used to pay for the District’s debt:
The District may impose a mill levy as a primary source of revenue for repayment of debt service. The District may also rely upon various other revenue sources authorized by law. At the District’s discretion, these may include the power to assess fees, rates, tolls, penalties, or charges.
5. The maximum mill levy that the District may assess to pay for its debt is as follows:
The District may impose a levy sufficient to collect $299,000 annually or by such lesser amount as may be necessary for payment of the debt.
6. Residents within the District may serve on the Board of Directors of the District if they are eligible electors of the District. A resident is an eligible elector of the District if the resident lives within the boundaries of the District and is registered to vote in Colorado.
